An international celebration of craftsmanship with a focus on Japan
Homo Faber Event shines a light on the "living treasures" of craftsmanship, with 15 exhibitions showcasing master artisans and exceptional objects from Europe, Japan and beyond, curated by a world-class team of leaders in the fields of design, architecture and curation. This unprecedented cultural event looks to highlight the excellence of master craftsmanship internationally and links contemporary, traditional and rare craftsmanship to the world of design. Watch Japanese and European master artisans at work in live demonstrations, witness unique creative processes and discover beautiful functional everyday objects and outstanding decorative pieces. This immersion in fine craftsmanship spreads beyond the main exhibition spaces and into the streets of Venice, where visitors can experience the hidden workshops that give this city such a rich artisanal heritage.

In the magical setting of the San Giorgio Maggiore Island, Fondazione Giorgio Cini opens up its beautiful array of spaces especially for Homo Faber to showcase the excellent craftsmanship of Europe and Japan in 15 striking exhibitions. These exhibitions celebrate the diversity of materials and expertise from endangered craftsmanship to cutting-edge contemporary techniques. From live workshops, installations to conferences, film screenings and a garden exhibition, Homo Faber offers visitors an immersive programme.
